As usual we are getting pumped about the up and coming Fly-Fishing Season in Alberta and Montana.Snowpack is normal to slightly above throughout the Missouri River drainage and slightly below normal in Alberta.Snowpack should increase as we move thru late winter and into early spring.

As things stand now It’s safe to say we will have normal or slightly above normal flows for the season …fingers crossed !

Top Picks for early Season Fly-Fishing

From April into June its tough to beat Montana’s Missouri River. This incredible tailwater fishery boasts a fantastic population of wild rainbow and brown trout. The other good news is it never blows out.Dirty water is never a problem.Hatches are also incredible, resulting in some great Dry-Fly opportunities.

From April thru to the 3 rd week of May Alberta’s Bow River is a good bet.Early season hatches consist of B.W.O.”s ,Skwala Stoneflies and Caddis.Streamer fishing can be good and nymph fishing always produces.

Once July rolls around we are in full swing on all the River we guide on.Let us know if we can help out with your trip planning.
