Male Bobwhite Quail

The past two months were spent in the Lone Star State -chasing Bobwhite Quail with a select few. Beautifully harsh, The Rolling Plains of Texas was also home to The Comanche Tribe known for their Horsemanship and violent raids on Settlers and neighboring Tribes alike. These days its inhabitants consist of Friendly People and Bobwhite Quail. Our days where spent pursuing the later, who would sometimes leave us stumped on their whereabouts ..kinda like The Comanches would do when being pursued. Other days they played , not always fair but playing is playing and the birds sometimes held or ran out from the point. As usual Covey finds depended on a lot of things we can’t control, namely scenting conditions. When the stars aligned it was great we they didn’t it was a lot of work. I am grateful for the experience and thanks all around for those that showed up! Enjoy the pics.
