The Bow River downstream of Calgary Alberta is highly regarded as one of the very best rivers in North America to fish for large trout , namely browns .My last trip up there reinforces my and other Outfitter’s verbal and written bullshit propaganda ,at least to me anyway.Over the years I spent at lot of time on The Bow River , I pulled my first guide trip there in 1988 ( I apologize to those first clients ) then spending countless days fishing and guiding and now where due o my ever evolving life and circumstances I don’t spend as much time Fly-Fishing and Guiding on The Bow River as I would like. Given a chance to sneak up there and I am gone , August 7th was no exception. I joined Newlyweds Annie and Jason Morrison for a fun filled day of” Toad chasing ‘ specifically targeting big fish via Hopper- Dropper rigs and throwing Streamers going for quality as opposed to worming the middle of the river while staring at indicators .It was fun ! We floated the sometimes difficult city stretch ,switching it up between hopper and streamer fishing .The result was an awesome day on the Bow River with a very happy newly married couple .
Congrats Annie and Jason !
