Dave Brown Outfitters Unveils New Logo

The "new' Dave Brown Outfitters Logo

Former U.S. President Dwight D. Eisenhower had a favorite dry fly – the H&L Variant. Traditional, iconic, reliable – the fly was like ‘Ike’ himself, Commander of the Allied Forces in Europe in WWII, the man who brought Nazism to its knees, and widely considered one of the greatest American presidents.

So it’s no surprise, then, that Dave Brown chose the same dry fly for his newly designed outfitting logo. Not only does Dave also admire and fish the H&L, but, in Ike’s mold, Dave’s also a staunch conservative with a no-holds work ethic who strives to make each and every client experience the best possible. Period.

Whether you’re drifting down the Elk River with one of his guides or swinging on a Saskatchewan Hun over one of his pointers, you can be assured that you’re in the best hands in the business. Dave Brown Outfitters is where traditionalism meets the new breed of fly fishers and bird hunters: double guns, please, but whether you wear tweed or denim is up to you. D.B.O. doesn’t discriminate – the eager novice is given the same amount of attention and respect as the seasoned pro.

When Dave approached prominent outdoors’ personality Tom Keer to re-design his logo and knit his fly-fishing and bird hunting brands into one, he wanted something simple yet classic. Keer came through in spades. Opposite the H&L is Johnny Ringo – a catalog-worthy English pointer who represents the new generation in Dave’s outstanding kennel. A timeless dry fly on one side and a tireless dog on the other … the perfect duo, linked by a bold font reminiscent of wooden corral gates and creaking barbed wire.

It’s D.B.O. thru and thru. Check out the full story of the logo’s creation and intent on Keer’s excellent website. And check out D.B.O. pronto: From the quail coveys of Arizona to the browns of the Bow River to prairie sharptails, we’ve got you covered. Traditionally minded, focused on you – that’s what sets Dave and his guides apart.

Ike would have approved.
