The 2013 Flood that hammered Southern Alberta not only raised havoc for those living close to  rivers it also shook up the rivers that where impacted,The Bow River felt the brunt.Despite this huge altering surge of water,being  the Champion that she is,The Bow River was fishing decent by August of 2013.

Now that The “New” Bow River has had a chance to catch it’s breath all agree that it is on the right path.Most longtime Bow River Guides  love  the new structure, channels and the cleansing it received. The Bow River is  sexier than ever.

Along with the new look  also comes some banner Bow River Fly-Fishing .A-Game stuff, fishing Stone Fly and Hopper patterns,with or without droppers  and streamer fishing has received a lot of glory.

The hatches are here .Tricos,P.M.D’s ,Caddis and Golden Stone Flies have all either  made  or are making  an appearance and the fish have gobbled them up.In the short term the Bow River and it’s residents are happily chugging away.

For the most part everyone especially Clients are  impressed by the usual Bow River Trade Mark which is the above average size and fight that exist in both the brown and rainbow trout that call The Bow River home.

In the long term,The Bow River  will continue to settle into it’s new course and channels.We all know that the Trout are going to love that.
