I hit a Bass Lake last night with my Daughter Hope and Step- Son Tyler . Hope has never Fly-fished before and Ty stuck to fishing jigs on a spinning rod . It was great to get out with some teenagers and show them the ropes .Ty had to work thru some complications with the Walmart special , his casts where right on target and managed to get a few hits .Hope stuck with the Fly-Rod , using a small Slumpbuster on a floating line she caught one Largemouth. I was busy rowing and more or less guiding which I like .The chance I did get to fish a blew a nice eat on a Clouser .

I wanted to check out the Lake which I think is a week away from being stellar , so the trip  was a recon mission also .The lake setting is perfect , not to big and not to small ,easy to read and lots of cool structure .Motor boats are not allowed so you don’t have to put up with the Bullshit
irritating Bass Boat crowd . For a couple of newbies the setting is perfect.

Tish hada good time also , swimming after ducks ( when allowed) and staring intently at the end of Hope’s fly-line ,afterall she knows the ropes .You learn them quick when you are a ‘Boat Dog” for a season . The only negative to the experience which will probably turn into a positive was the amount of garbage others leave behind. Beer cans and water bottles where grouped in areas that ‘bank maggots”  had tried to fish .Oh well maybe some well placed signs and a few tickets might cure that ,afterall word travels fast in The Border Lands when the long arm of the law is putting it’s foot down .
