With The Arizona Quail Hunting Season done and over with it’s time to start looking at 2015 will bring.I am already starting to get pumped up about Fly-Fishing,slowly weening myself from Shotgun Porn Sites and switching to Fly-Fishing Porn Sites.

Of course I will be adding more Fly-Fishing pics to www.DaveBrownOutfitters.com as time goes on.

As I scroll through the Pictures I took during the 2014-2015 Guide Season I can’t help but admire The beauty Mother Nature has bestowed on us and at the same time think about what a lucky person I am to have such incredible landscapes and to work in and be part of.

The Quarry that I get to pursue is also very remarkable, wether it is a Brown Trout from Montana’s Missouri River or Alberta’s Bow River,a Westslope Cutthroat from The Elk River,or a big rainbow from a little known Alberta Tailwater. The scenery remains stunning.

The fishing in 2014 was off the charts ..no Bull Shit  B.S.Montana’s Missouri River dropped and fished like a champ when June rolled around. On days off Streamer Fishing was often interrupted by rising Trout, big fish looking for Caddis and P.M.D.’s.Of course my clients and fishing buddies obliged.

The Bow River shaped up by the 4th of July,I did not get to fish it much, however clients sure enjoyed it.The Bow River bounced back from the 2013 floods, there were the occasional “big boys” but lots of 18-20 inch fish, looking ahead to the Bow River 2015 season sure is fun.

The Rivers we play and work on in British Columbia where also generous, producing wild and native Cutthroats,Bull and Rainbow Trout.

The B.C. Redbands love to rip it up as much as the Elk River Cutthroats love to eat Dry Flies.

On The Fly-Fishing front is was all good in 2014  and 2015 looks even better. The snow pack is lower than it has been which will result in great  fishing once the rivers drop.

Saskatchewan Upland Bird Hunting also improved in 2014.Although “spotty” once  the Spots where figured out it was “game on” moving a good number of Hun Coveys on a given day.The big Prairre Landscape is also impressive. The Fall sky is alive with migrating Waterfowl, the Migration building with each weather change in the Boreal Region until finally the Birds “blow out ” heading south for warmer weather.

The Dogs are what Upland Bird hunting is all about. In Saskatchewan they can get out there and rip it up and it’s a pleasure to watch Dogs to what they are bred to do.

Of course the shooting can be challenging as Gray Partridge are extremely fast flyers. In order to have good shooting on Huns you need to get into  lot of coveys.Saskatchewan continues to be The Hun Mecca of North America for that reason.

When We arrived back home to Arizona in November we where pretty excited about the Monsoon Season that we had.A good Monsoon equates to a good Mearns Quail Hatch.Once again the Dogs and I where out poking around The Sonoran Desert checking things out.

From a scenery standpoint this is one of the prettiest areas in The World one can pursue three species of Quail over Pointing Dogs. The bonus is you can often hunt in shirtsleeves during January when other destinations are frozen out.

We where busy from the start to the finish, and with all the Winter rain we have been having 2015 is also shaping up well for a good Gambels and Scaled Quail hatch.
