The Recon Model Fly Rod was launched this year,replacing the popular Access series.I ordered the 907 and was very impressed.The finish and hardware is very good,most importantly the action of these rods is outstanding.I would define the action as medium-fast.Lisa and I put the 7 wt through the paces via some LM Bass fishing.We cast heavy streamers and Chernobyl Ants,flies that 7 weights are designed for.We also had some fishing fighting opportunities and again the rod performed well.
Ontop of the 907-4 I also had the chance to cast the 905 and 906 at The Orvis Guide Rendezvous,I now have ordered them both.For the $ you cant go wrong with these rods,they are made in the USA,they show and feel it.I am looking forward to putting the 907 thru more trials these week when I head up to Ontario to go Steelhead fishing.Don’t take my word for it, go cast a Recon today.
