I have waited a while to get my hands on my own Orvis H2 9ft ,5wt tip flex  and yes I am impressed . I have fished the shit out it here on The Missouri River  Here are my  thoughts .

  • The rod loads well when carrying varying amounts of line which means it casts well short or far .
  • The rod tracks excellent , lending for greater accuracy
  • Line speed can easily be generated  or increased without compromising the action or load of  the rod. This is a must for Western fishing conditions .
  • turning over long leaders with  two dry flies was not a problem
  • Fishing a variety of nymph rigs is also no-poblemo
  • The rod is extremely light -I thought I was holding or casting  a 3 wt yet I was able to put the boots to some big fish in short order .
  • The rod is finished really nice , blue blank and a killer reel seat
  • I choose the tip flex because I like medium fast action rods , this is exactly the action of this model
  • Don’t take my word , cast it  or just go buy it you can’t go wrong ..trust me I’m a guide .
    Orvis does it right
