Montana Pheasant Tails

Bird Hunters either like Pheasants or they hate them. Why ? they are cagey as F##k running out on dogs that are pointing them is the common answer. I agreed and will admit that when I got back into Bird Hunting I would gladly chase Roosters across the Prairie , then I got tired of getting hosed on points because the Ditch Parrots disappeared leaving hunters and dogs somewhat frustrated. My Pheasant hunting became somewhat incidental ,but can say or brag that I have shot Ditch Parrots in Alberta, Saskatchewan , Montana , Kansas and Oklahoma. In 2020 we opened up Channel & Brown Outfitting Company and ended up in some of the best Montana Pheasant Country that has a wide variety of habitats, both man -made and natural. Over the years I inserted a couple of Labradors into the Dog String and have learned to pick my battles with said Ditch Parrots via putting the appropriate Dog(s) on the  ground based on the cover we are hunting. I will admit I am enjoying the “chase ” but also look forward to the part of the day when we pull the pin on Pheasant Hunting and go look for Huns and Sharptails. Scroll down and enjoy the Montana Pheasant Hunting pics !
