Montana Upland Bird Hunting Report & Forecast

Montana Upland Bird Reports both from landowners and seeing what I am seeing is that The Montana 2026 Upland Bird Hunting Season will be on par or better than 2025 which was not to shabby. Rain at the right time then a lot of heat has made for somewhat of the a perfect storm for birds to hatch and have lots to eat ..namely Grass Hoppers. Pheasant Numbers also appear to be good and we are expecting a productive 2026 Montana Upland Bird Season. Although the Montana Upland Bord Season opens September 1st we will be getting going on Sept 15 when things cool down and will be running into November. We still have some openings left to get you out on a Guided Montana Upland Bird Hunt for Sage Grouse ,Sharptail Course ,Hungarian Partridge and Pheasants.

Saskatchewan will be similar to Montana. Last season we found Huns in good numbers and in some of our spots the numbers were a little lower in others. This was due to a very wet July. Sharptail numbers overall were good. gauging from landowner reports We expect to see good numbers of Huns and Sharptails along with epic Waterfowl numbers because like Montana things happened at the right time. Given the amount of moisture Saskatchewan received during the Spring  ,resident Duck numbers should increase. Our Saskatchewan Upland Bird and Waterfowl Season kicks off Sept 15 and runs until Oct 31. If you are looking for an epic mixed bag hunt for Sharptials, Huns and Waterfowl this is it.

Arizona Quail Hunting Report & Forecast

Desert Quail Hunting

Lots of Winter rain and then a strong Monsoon should help Arizona Quail Populations rebound from the low numbers of 2025. Desert Quail call counts are way up and with a strong Monsoon that is happening  we should see a decent up tick in Mearns Quail Numbers. I think Arizona will be decent all the way around. Although the Arizona Quail Season opens in October it’s still extremely warm and “snakey” We start our Guided Arizona Quail Hunts after November 15th when temperatures have cooled down.

Along with our regular Guided Arizona Quail Hunts based out of Patagonia AZ we we also be once again operating The El Coronado Ranch Guided Arizona Quail Hunts which is an all inclusive venue where the hunting takes place on private land. This is a good  year to come down to Arizona to Hunt all three species of Arizona Quail including Mearns ,Gambles and Scaled Quail. Contact Us to plan your Arizona Quail Hunt.
