
The Prairies are a the perfect place to watch pointing dogs stretch out cover the ground then point birds.Up here in Saskatchewan the quarry is Huns and Shaprtails both are awesome birds for dogs to work,both don’t tolerate any bull shit sloppy handling from the dogs,who learn to point these birds from a distance.

When the birds are found and the Hunters are moving up on the point time seems to freeze for those brief seconds,then the birds flush flying @45 M.P.H. to escape the Dogs and Hunters ..usually they win.

Most enjoy that,this is not about how many birds are killed,it’s about how many you see,hence coveys are counted and so are the Sharptail flushes.The Birds that are killed are enjoyed at dinner.

Ontop of some great dog work,shooting a few birds is the reward for covering a lot of miles.
